Introduction

PHPSandbox provides isolated environments for creating, running, sharing, publishing, and improving products. We call each one a product sandbox.

A product sandbox is not limited to an application or its runtime. It can bring together the code, files, tools, previews, demos, presentations, feedback, and integrations that support a product as it develops.

Today, you can start from a framework template, fork an existing sandbox, or import a repository. The sandbox keeps the project's files, dependencies, runtime configuration, services, processes, and live URLs together as you work.

The product loop

A product sandbox supports the complete product loop:

  1. Create or import a product from a framework template, another sandbox, or a repository.
  2. Build and run it with the files, dependencies, configuration, services, commands, and tests it needs.
  3. Preview and share the product through a live URL.
  4. Publish it to a deployment provider.
  5. Collect feedback and iterate on what you published.

Feedback leads to the next change. Return to the same sandbox, continue working, and publish the next version.

One sandbox, two interfaces

Use the Workspace to work on a product interactively in the browser. Use the SDK when an application, workflow, or agent needs to create and control product sandboxes programmatically.

Both interfaces operate on the same sandbox. Work started through the SDK can be inspected and continued in the Workspace.

What can you build?

  • Product prototypes: build an idea, run it, share it, and continue iterating in the same sandbox.
  • Interactive documentation: let people run examples with their real dependencies and runtime.
  • Demos and presentations: present a product in the environment where it actually works.
  • Reproducible support: share the code, configuration, and running state behind a problem.
  • Automated product workflows: let applications, integrations, and agents create and control sandboxes programmatically.
